FRANCES DENNIS

I read some time ago that the Australian artist Lloyd Rees described his approach to landscape painting as creating a world of his own imagining. I also read some time ago that in painting "Inland Australia" Sidney Nolan fused elements from existing locations with a landscape remembered from experience.Those words still resonate when I paint the landscapes experienced after travelling for decades as pillion on our BMW motorcycle across Australia, the USA and Europe.  All that remains after a ride are the colours and shapes seen through the moods of a day.  

I work in all mediums, including mixed media, but oil paint is my first love.
